How to import data in Mozilla without changing the format?

Whenever I import a calculation table into my Mozilla open source email client, all existing styles like type of text or its size are altered to the style of the data that was imported.

I never had this issue until now, can you please provide an explanation as to why this is happening and how can I fix this so that it will not happen again?

Hi Divina,

It seems your using another program to open your files. Just for example I'm going to send to you a file from Microsoft Excel 2003 and your gonna open it to Microsoft Excel 2007. This is just normal if your using different program where you encounter errors some would be minimal or un-noticed. I suggest to install same program to your sender and receiver just to minimize this errors. As you mentioned this is not the cause of using Mozilla, even if you are using different kinds of server the problem is in the program.

Thanks,

Edwin

Hello Divina,

It is possible that the data that you are importing from the email client was created with a different version of ms excel, and that is why the format of the data is altered when you paste them in the excel document that you are using on your computer.

You will therefore need to copy the data in a manner that will retain the formatting of the source file. To do this, just copy your data from the excel on the email client, and then open the excel document on your computer. Go to edit in the ms excel document menu and then click on paste special. Paste special is a mode that will retain the source formatting of the data that you want to import.

Hi,

It is important that before you understand how to protect yourself in Firefox against unnecessary changes and tweaking's you should first understand the structures of Firefox and how they work.

There are so many customizations that you can do to prevent changes to your imports. It is important also to note that Firefox stores all your settings in a specified folder and if you are unable to see this on a Windows XP Documents and Settings[Username]Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfiles for windows Vista and windows 7 Users[Username]AppDataRoamingMozillaFirefoxProfiles

If you do not see this then enable it by clicking on show hidden files found under the view tab of the Folder's option. In the control panel of the windows. Here, you can check and change the settings appropriately.
