  • Computer has its own IP address and a unique identifier called Mac address. This separate your computer amongst others, can be known as finger print of a computer.
  • Websites uses DNS – Domain Name Server instead of IP address to remember their website easily instead of long list of numbers.

To check remote IP address, here's how:

  1. Go to Start, Run and type cmd and press enter key.
  2. This open Command Prompt window.
  3. In the blinking cursor, type ping and the website you want to know the remote IP address.
  4. Example is ping https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl and press enter.
  5. This gives you reply and an IP address.

This is the remote IP address that you are asking for.
