Hello Adam Johnson,

Thank you, for posting that question here. There are two types of Screen shot these are full screen screenshot and one window screen shot. To do the first type full screen screenshot just press "Print Screen" button and open Paint which can be found on the accessories folder then paste(Ctrl V). To do the one window screenshot you must make sure that the window is active then hold down the "Alt" key and press "Print screen.

Next thing to do is open "Paint" which can be found in the accessories folder then paste (Ctrl V). After that you can edit the image you have capture like cropping the picture, adding text, putting styles and etc. It depends on how you edit it it and how you want it to look like. Look at the picture below to fully understand the instruction I have given.

If you want to take a screenshot here is way you should do:

1. Press the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard.

2. f you want to take a screenshot of just one window, make sure that the window is the "active" window on your screen. This means that it should be in front of all your other windows. Then, hold down the "Alt" key and press "Print Screen".

Getting the Screenshot off the Clipboard

  1. 1

Open Microsoft Paint. To open Paint, open the Start menu, click on "All Programs", click on "Accessories", and finally click on "Paint".

  2. 2

Paste the screenshot. Click the "Select" tool along the top bar and choose "Rectangular Select" in Paint. Right-click on the canvas and select "Paste". Your screenshot will be pasted onto the canvas.

    • You can also paste the screenshot directly into a word document or an email by right-clicking the page that you are composing and selecting "Paste."
    • You can also hold down "Ctrl" and press "V" to paste.
    • On Windows XP and earlier, you can open the "Edit" menu and select "Paste" to paste.
  3. 3

Save the screenshot. Click on File, then select "Save As…" (Windows Vista and earlier), or click on the menu button (the blue button beside the "Home" button) and select "Save As" (Windows 7 and later). Type in a file name and change the "Save as type:" field if desired. Read the "Tips" section for information on file types. You can now send the screenshot by email or put it on a website.

Remember to hold your Alt+print screen to copy.ok

Hello Adam,

It’s very easy to take a screen shot of your desktop or any other window you want. It’s all the same on Windows 7 as someone takes the screenshot on Windows XP. Please follow the steps below,

1. Choose any window you want to take the screenshot of and press the “Print Screen/ SysRq” button on the keyboard and thus the screenshot is taken.

2. If you want to take the screenshot of only one window then press and hold the button “Alt” and press the button “Print Screen/ SysRq” while holding the button “Alt”.

3. Then go to Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > Paint and paste the screenshot by clicking “Paste” at the left-top corner of the “Paint” window or just press the button “Ctrl+V”, that is press and hold the button “Ctrl” and press the button “V” while holding the button “Ctrl”.

4. Now you have to save the screenshot and in order to do so you can simply press the button “Ctrl+S” that is press and hold the button “Ctrl” and press the button “S” while holding the button “Ctrl” or you can either choose from “Save” or “Save as” option from the left-top corner of the “Paint” window. Now the screenshot is saved and the default format of the screenshot saved is (.bmp), but, if you want any other formats to save your screenshot such as (.jpg), (.jpeg), (.png) or (.gif) then please choose the option “Save as” and you will find variety of formats and you can choose your desired one among those.

I hope your problem will be solved.

Thanks.
