How do I remove Divx Webplayer Mac?

Hello guys,

How do I remove Divx Webplayer Mac? I can’t seem to uninstall the Divx Webplayer in my Mac 10.7 operating system and currently using Safari as web browser. The divx webplayer is still running during flash streaming in some video viewing websites such as YouTube. I am no longer using Divx now. Can you help me find a way to finally uninstall it?

How do I remove Divx Webplayer Mac?

When Divx web player is installed on Mac 10. 1 OS ,it also has a plugin on the browser. For it to be completely removed from the system it has to be uninstalled from the OS and also its plugin on the Safari browser has to be disabled. To disable follow the steps below

1. Quit the Safari browser
2. Find the plugins from either of these folders

• Library/internet plugins/

Go to the Finder, select Go>Computer, open the startup disk. Open the Library folder

• ~/Library/internet plugins/ (in the home folder as indicated by the ~)

Go to the finder and press Option  choosing Go>Library

3. Remove the Divx web player plugin(account name and password for an administrator account maybe needed)
4. Reopen the Safari browser.
