Some problems that occur with the Norton Internet Security 2012 is that once you install it you can not get rid of it. For some reason it keeps re-installing on its own.

How do I permanently uninstall the Norton Internet Security 2012?

Hi Jonathon,

This is a common problem with Norton Internet Security 2012 so you have several choices if the normal uninstallation from the control panel add/remove programs doesn't work :

-The first choice would be to remove it manually which is a choice that I don't prefer since it involves a lot of manual file deletion plus deleting some registry keys which may cause a problem if not done correctly.

-The second choice which I recommend for you is to use a helping program to get Norton Internet Security uninstalled for you .

I recommend you two programs:

1) PerfectUninstaller: which you can get from  http://www.perfectuninstaller.net/PerfectUninstaller_Setup.exe

2) MaxUninstaller: which you can get from http://maxuninstaller.com/MaxUninstaller_Setup.exe

The use of both tools is so simple where you just choose the program from the list of programs on your computer then press Remove.

How do I permanently uninstall the Norton Internet Security 2012?

We will review first the basic procedure by uninstalling its own uninstaller. For Windows XP, tap the START button then to the CONTROL PANEL.  For Windows XP proceed to the ADD AND REMOVE programs and click the CHANGE/REMOVE button. While if you are using Windows Vista (Windows 7), just tap the UNINSTALL button. 

Then choose the program you want to remove.  If you still have trouble in removing this, you proceed now to uninstalling it manually.  Before you start, it is important that you end all the tasks of Norton Internet Security 2012 and all the programs as well by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del.  Then try these two options.

1.      Click Start — All Programs — locate Norton Internet Security 2012 — click “Uninstall Norton”

2.      Click to remove the said program and  all  its related user data

3.      Follow instructions until you reach the removal.  Just wait until removal is completed

4.      Make sure that everything related  to Norton Internet Security 2012 were removed by double checking it.

5.      From the START button — click  SEARCH  for files and folders and delete all the leftover files and folders related to the   said program.

6.      Restart your computer

7.      In case you cannot delete the files please restart your computer and enter the Safe Mode

If you wish you may also try to use the MAX UNINSTALLER  to automatically uninstall the Norton Internet Security 2012.
