Could anyone tell me how to create the most basic query for ORACLE? I would like to determine when was the last ORACLE backup? I can use RMAN because it provides such data. There is the help of SQL server but I need specifically the ORACLE query.

How to create most basic query for ORACLE back up?

Hello Federico,

First of all, I need to introduce what oracle back up means. Oracle back up is a copy of data including important database like control files and data files. It is divided into logical and physical back up.

There are 2 ways to create oracle back up. First is recover manager and second is user managed back up recovery. RMAN or recovery manager is a utility oracle that can restore and back up data files and it doesn't require separate installation. While user managed back up recovery is really operated by oracle but using RMAN is really recommended because it simplified administration. You can take a look at the image below for more information. I hope it helps.
