How to create ascii dxf file.

Hi all experts,

I am working on AutoCAD software for designing some 3D images of interior home structure. But I am not able to create ASCII dxf file, even not able to find in which format it is in the system. Can anyone educate me what is the format and how to create ascii dxf file so that I can finally work on DXF files.

How to create ascii dxf file.

Hi Dallas,

Creating ASCII dxf file in Auto CAD is simple. If you want to create your own applications or program to manipulate with DXF files. The good thing about ASCII version of the DXF files is that it can be read with text-editors.

Just open it using any text-editor and you will find the complete format of a ASCII DXF file. You can find the complete detail regarding creating and manipulating with the ASCII DXF file from here.

You can also follow the steps provided in the createASCIIDXF.txt file attached to create the ASCII DXF file.
