What are backlinks? Why will Google Penguin penalize my website if it has backlinks in it? Is it possible to find all the backlinks in my website content and automatically remove them? Which tools can I use for this purpose? What is the Google's disavow links tool used for? What will it do for my website?

Backlinks are the links that are pointed from other websites to your website. If you got a good backlinks means the link has good domain authority or page authority and from a high pr website and from a rich content than it will helps you to boost your ranking. But when it is from a low quality website then it will be the reason to penalize from Google. To be safe to penalize you need to remove the low quality backlinks and you can use Google's Disavow tool to remove from index and your website.
