Hello carol every browser has its own interface so i am going to talk about the most famous browsers then tell me if you need specific one ,any way It is too simple and i will tell you shortcuts for it
Google chrome ctrl+shift+del
and you will be asked which stuff you want to delete from your history and which period choose clear cookies and uncheck any thing else and click clear browsing data
Opera browser ctrl+F12
Then choose advanced tab from the above taps then cookies from side bar click manage cookies and delete what you want
Also Firefox and internet explorer work using ctrl+alt+del shortcut

I guess you pretty much have an idea of how cookies work. So here’s the answer to your question.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or 9.0
Go to Tools > Internet Options > “Privacy” tab. – From this page you can adjust the behavior of how your browser deals with cookies.
Firefox 7.0 and newer
Go to Tools > Options (may be under the Firefox button) > Privacy tab – you may choose whether cookies are enabled for websites you visit and third party websites, and if so how long they will persist. You can also use the 'Exceptions' button to override the settings for particular websites.
Google Chrome 5.0
Go to Settings > Show Advanced Settings > “Privacy” > Content Settings
