I think is the best website for freelancers.

You have to make a profile on this website. Try to make an attractive profile by adding your skills, experiences and portfolios. Contractors having tested skills get more jobs on this site, test your skills by giving skills tests.

After completing profile search jobs in your category and apply.

To get more jobs you have to write to the point proposals, don’t submit generic proposals on every project.

Dear first of all examine yourself that in which field of Information technology you are good.

Because there is a very heavy competition between freelancers. So select the best field you can.

And then join any good freelancer website like odesk com or freelance.com 

Put some good samples of your work on these websites.
