If you've spent any time surfing the Internet, you've seen more than your fair share of banner ads.

These small rectangular advertisements appear on all sorts of Web pages and vary considerably in appearance and subject matter, but they all share a basic function: If you click on them, your Internet browser will take you to the advertiser's Web site.

But how do they work and why are they there?

When you ad banners on the website, it helps them to monetize it through the system of Pay-Per-Click it means that every time the ads where clicked by a user. Then they will get money from the owner of the website that you advertise. Just like the Google AdSense system, when you post an ad on your website and it under your username.

Every person who clicks it will get a money from it per click. That's how it goes, not only did you gain money but help the others as well. The best part of it is that you just need to post it and then just leave it there.

Banner ads usually attached to a website, once click then the banner adds displays as a pop-up after the main page is loaded.

This can be consider as an annoying pop-up if you don't like it but the purpose of this banner adds is to do business.

It is similar type of advertising on TV. They have this survey meter that counts how many are watching the channel in a particular date and time. However this banner adds works as a pay-per-click type of scheme.

If banner adds get click then it records in their count meter what day, time and locations. This either direct you to the website that sells the products to promote the products they sell. The more traffic of the website gets, then the more advertiser comes into play and money are raining.
