Help! pcie 1x and 16x videocards

Hello guys I just want to ask  can I run a normal pcie16x video card in a 1 x slot? And can I make a crossfire connection from this two and what Vcard can I use to this slots I just want to have a crossfire or sli connection from this two is it possible?

Help! pcie 1x and 16x videocards

One serious limitation for inserting a PCI-E x16 into a PCI-E 1x slot is the physical dimension of the slot.  The 1x is simply too short for the 16x.

However, there have been some who were brave enough to try modifications that let them insert an x16 to a 1x PCI-E slot:. Below are some known modifications: 

1.  Cutting out the excess x16 contacts so the card will fit into the x1 slot.

2.  Removing one end of the x1 slot.  When you insert the x16 card, the remaining pins will be left hanging.  Just make sure the contacts do not touch any other components on the motherboard by taping up the excess pins.

3.  Buying a PCI-E x16 to PCI-E x1 adaptor.

There doesn't seem to be any info on the net regarding using it for SLI or Crossfire.
