Hi Brian!

Have you checked your hardware drive and see if there are warnings? Hope you have updated your drivers. I remember a friend of mine once encountered this error and tried every possible thing to resolve this same error, even reinstalling didn’t work. Check out this link and I’m sure there’s an answer for you.

Another is he bought this Verbatim DVD+R’s and tested a DATA DVD and problem solved.

Hi Brian,

That error you are getting signifies a hardware problem. It could either be the optical drive or the media that you are using.

For starters, I would suggest you try burning to different types of media like DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, etc.

If all types of media failed, then the problem is with your optical drive. Try using a Lens cleaner because dust may have accumulated in the drive itself. You should bring your optical drive to the vendor where you bought it from if its still within warranty.

I hope this helps.

If you normally use CyberLink Power2Go when burning CDs and DVDs, try to uninstall and reinstall the program. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your CyberLink Power2Go among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds.

This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then install your CyberLink Power2Go back. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, try using ImgBurn instead as alternative to CyberLink Power2Go.

If the problem continues, you probably need to change the CD or DVD brand you are using because the problem is not with the burner but with the disc itself.
