GPS not detected in Pharos iGPS-500 device

For a Pharos iGPS-500 device, in Microsoft Streets and Trips or in MapPoint there’s an error saying that GPS is not being detected in the product. How will I know if there is any conflict on the device? how do I check if it's receiving a signal?

GPS not detected in Pharos iGPS-500 device

Hi Beatrice, if the GPS is not detected in the device,  as well as the blue LED lights not functioning, before configuring anything yet, try to make sure that what you downloaded is a standard version of the program which includes the GPS. For example, Streets & trips 2007 have GPS while 2009 doesn't’t. Now, once everything is set, connect the GPS device straight into the USB port, and not via cable. First install Street & Trips or MapPoint before the GPS. Now, restart the computer & then plug the GPS device direct into your desktop or laptop. On the Pharos device you will notice a blue light. Now you can go to the Streets & Trips or MapPoint otherwise if the light does not illuminate check the settings of your Tools then point to the GPS then click the configure GPS receiver.
