Hi.

My name is anish pandey i bought the windows XP 2005 from a market but the given cd keys is cd cover is *****-*****-4RHJG-*****-***** the given keys is correct but it cannot make my windows genuine ?

At First Click on start menu and Run

Then

1.In the text box in the Run window, type regedit and click OK. This will open the Registry Editor program.

2.Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder under My Computer and click on the (+) sign next the folder name to expand the folder.

3.Continue to expand folders until you reach the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWi… VersionWPAEvents registry key.

4.Click on the WPAEvents folder.

5.In the results that appear in the window on the right, locate OOBETimer.

6.Right-click on the OOBETimer entry and choose Modify from the resulting menu.

7.Change at least one digit in the Value data text box and click OK. This will deactivate Windows XP.

8.Click on Start and then Run.

9.In the text box in the Run window, type the following command and click OK.

%systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a

10.When the Windows Product Activation window appears, choose Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows and then click Next.

11.Click Change Product Key.

12.Type your new, valid Windows XP product key in the New key text boxes and then click Update.

13.If you're taken back to the previous screen and prompted, choose Remind me later.

14.Restart your PC.

That’s because the product key included in your copy of Microsoft Windows XP is not genuine which makes your Windows XP setup CD a pirated copy. You can never activate a copy of Windows XP using a product key that came from pirated copies. By default, a Microsoft Windows product key can be used and registered for one computer only.

You cannot register another copy of the operating system using the same product key. The product key applies to the hardware and not to the user who register it. One user can have multiple product keys for multiple computers. You cannot acquire a product key for free. It has to be purchased.

If you want your Windows XP to be genuine, you need to purchase the Windows XP setup CD from a legit store or online. At the moment, Microsoft Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft. If you want a genuine operating system for your computer that is still supported by Microsoft, you can purchase this: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32/64 Bit Retail Full Version for $129.
