Fixing mpg video file on Windows 8

My desktop with Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 1 GB GeForce Graphics Card and Windows 8 was recently attacked by a Win32 Trojan virus and corrupted all my mpg files.  Can someone teach me in fixing mpg video file?  Thanks in advance.

Fixing mpg video file on Windows 8

 

 

Hi Matthew D Martinez,

Just follow these steps I think it will be helpful for you-

 

1.     Press the keys "Ctrl," "ALT" and "Delete" at the same time for the Task Manager window.

2.     Here a tab "Processes" click on that and then look for these trojan-related files:

 

          geurge.exe

          mgmrwmrv.exe

          ctfmona.exe

3.     Click above on every file and then press "End Process".

 

4.     Then go to "Start",  "Search" and "All Folders". Check also the "C" drive for the above files. Copy and paste these file names:

 

          geurge.exe

          mgmrwmrv.exe

          ctfmona.exe

 

5.    If you get these files in your file and folder just press "Delete" key and Reboot your computer.

 

It is the manual system of deleting win32 virus files. After doing these steps you can remove win32 viruses. If viruses still persist then use any good anti virus for your PC.

Corrupt video file due to virus attack is a very common problem.

You can use any one of the following software's to repair the damaged mpeg file.

Make sure you have killed all the virus from your PC before installing the software's.

Download the software from here and install on your PC. Start repairing your files.

MPEG Corrector :

Get the software from here and fix your files.

VCD Gear :

Another good software to repair MPEG files. Download it and start fixing your files.
