Failure to edit data in OmniTrader

Hello All,

I am using OmniTrader 2013 Pro with MetaStock EOD data. When I attempt editing data in the Focus List right click menu, I get the error ‘Object reference not set to an instance of an object’. And when I click on the OK button, it brings the following ‘No data’ window. This problem occurs when I right click on a symbol in Focus List and then click ‘Edit Data’ instead of opening the editor window. I do not know what is causing this issue. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be the reason for this error? Please inform. Thanking you for the suggestions.

No data has been loaded for ‘70001247’.

I think you are editing the data incorrectly. To do the data editing properly, you need first to download the DataClient Utility Program which can automatically download stock data into your computer. The OmniTrader utility program is limited only to Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. But before you can download the utility, you need to sign up first and the registration is also free.

Once downloaded, run the program and convert your data. After that, start OmniTrader and go to View then select Focus List. See image.

Next, click on the pencil button to edit the Focus List. See image.

Then after that, navigate to your data folder in “Drives & Directories” like for example in “C:DataNASDAQP” if you have this path. See image.

After that, highlight or click your desired symbol, click Add, and then OK. Before clicking OK, make sure you already added all the symbols you want to the Focus List. See image.

Finally, to display or show a chart, you need to double-click a symbol in the Focus List window. See image.
