Hi, my problem is with my RealTek network adapter which is I am using in my vista operating system. Yesterday a pop up window floated asking for the installation of an update for the network adapter. But the installation failed showing a message "error 80070103". I could not manage to solve it using troubleshooter. Can you tell me how to fix it?

Hello Kimghartwick,

What you need is a driver that is compatible with your Vista OS and a latest Realtek High definition Driver. The error message shows that there is a problem in updating your driver due to incompatibility. It fails to update because the previous version is that one that is being updated. Download the latest version of Realtek High definition Driver and then disable and uninstall your previous version. Remember to download the driver on your manufacturer's site, to avoid incompatibility. Try the following steps:

  1. Click on "Start" button and then Control Panel.
  2. Go to the System and Maintenance link then Administrative Tools.
  3. Under Computer Management icon, click the Device Manager (left side of the window ).
  4. Click the View menu and select "Devices by connection"
  5. Over the "UAA High Definition Audio Bus Driver for Microsoft", right-click "Disable and Uninstall".
  6. Reinstall the latest version of Realtek Driver.
