Hi,

I get this error on Exchange 2010 Setup Error in an inconsistent state.

This usually happens when an idea is reinstalled, or the substitution host has been uninstalled.

Error:

Some controls are not valid
  •  The Exchange Server is in an inconsistent state. Only disaster recovery mode is available. Please use Setup /mRecoverServer to recover this Exchange server.
I need help to resolve this error.

Thanks.

Dear Arturo owen

According to the error you received, this issue may occur if the previously Exchange installation or removal failed to finish. This situation leaves the Exchange server object in Active Directory and prevents a new Exchange from installation. A resolution of this problem is simply to remove the Exchange server object in Active Directory.

In order to do this please follow the procedure explained in this webpage which is submitted by Microsoft Exchange server technet: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc411332.aspx . You should use an account delegated a membership in the local administrators group to perform this procedure. And the ADSI (Active Directory Service Interfaces) can be run from a client or server computer.

Hope this may help you.

Best of luck
