Outlook Express: An error occurred on opening specific mail

Hi,

I am at work to open some report via email, when I am about to open a certain email, it cannot be opened.

The error message said that, there is an error opening the email.

There was an error opening this message

An error has occurred

When I try to think in solving the problem, I tried to open the email using my laptop, I can open the email. So thinking that my desktop computer might be the problem, I removed outlook express and installed it again, after which, I restarted my computer. When I try to open the same email, still it cannot be opened, and same error message appeared.

Please help me with the error in opening my email.

Hey,

The WAB files are corrupted or damaged therefore you are getting this error.

Solution

1. Click Start, then go to find and click For Files or Folders.
2. Search for *.wab (this is the file extension)
3. The file that is found Rename it.
4. Change the three left-most characters in the name to old.
5. It done.

Now when you restart outlook express it will create a new WAB file and this error will disappear.

If you experience this problem again repeat the process again.

Hi,

Maybe the email had been corrupted and therefore there was the problem in opening the email. You may try opening the email with yahoo,or Gmail. If that doesn't work out, you need to delete all the temporary internet files and empty the deleted items folder. You also need to delete wab32.dll and wab32res.dll from c:/program files/common files/system.

This,you may get from going to the start button, then to 'run' button and typing 'regregsvr32 c:/program files/outlook express/oeimport.dll' and regregsvr32 c:/program files/outlook express/wabimp.dll.dll

Ensure that the security patch is disabled. Thanks
