Error on launching Operations Manager

I got an error when starting the Operations Manager or even the Service Manager Console. The error says:

Operations Manager

Failed to connect to server 'scom.lab.rickygao.com'

The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log…

I'm not sure why this error came up. My SQL Server is up and running and I don't understand why it is failing. Kindly please help me.

Error on launching Operations Manager

To be able to fix this, check on the following:

1. Ensure that the System Center Data Access Service is running.

2. Ensure that SQL Server is running. If its both running and you still got the error, maybe this is due to VMs poor performance particularly in the lab environment where the resources are limited. If this is the case, wait for few minutes and then try again.

3. Check for the Operation Manager event log and search for Event 3334. And then, check the log again the same time Event 3334 was recorded in OM log. You will find another event which is the Event 7031. Search for any other events that is causing the issue. If the service runs properly, Event 7036 will be registered.
