Error IW172 with SAP CJ20

We have a project in CJ20 and then we made a budget for that project. And we also made some more material in material planning but when trying to save, we received an error IW172.

"Error occurred during budget check, see cost protocol"

Display the cost determination log for the order or network plan for more detailed information on the error.

Error IW172 with SAP CJ20

You mentioned the error IW172 is appearing when you added new material and tried to save. Please check the cost of this new material (times quantity to get total cost) and see by adding it whether you are going beyond the budget. Most likely this will be the case. If yes make corresponding change in material cost or increase the budget.

 

you can also check the cost determination log after it gives error.

 

It will show by what amount does the budget exceeds exactly. This will help you for your analysis.
