Hi,

As I understand it, you already have installed a flash player in your computer and you tried to update it however it gave you an error which says “Error Installing Flash Update”. Please find below the instruction which may help you to update it.

1.  Just to make sure that you don’t have the latest flash player installed on your computer, please click on the “About Flash Player” which will display the Version Information box that shows the version of your current Flash Player. On the same page, check if there’s a latest Flash Player version available for your computer and if that version doesn’t match the what you have, then it’s confirmed that you have an older version.

2.  If it’s confirmed that you already have an older version of Flash Player installed on your computer, you need to UNINSTALL it first and after that, restart your computer.

3.  Once it has been successfully uninstalled and  your computer is restarted, this is the only time that you can download the latest or updated version of Flash Player.

Have you checked your internet connection status yet? For the update to be successful you should be having a strong enough internet connection. The problem could also be because you are trying to update the macromedia application from the wrong site, make sure that your update is being done from the macromedia site for it to work.

Otherwise I will advise to try the following as workaround to the situation:

  • Contact macromedia support and tell them about the problem that you are experiencing. It could a problem with their server or database which they should be able to fix.
  • Go to the control panel, uninstall the macromedia flash application. Download the latest version of the application and install it manually on your computer.
