An error encountered with Setup.exe

I meet an error while I was installing software through a CD. My computer has running with Windows 2000. Every time I try to install it the same error shows up: 

Setup.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.

This quite worrying, I tried another brand of CD but still same error occurs. Any idea about this guys?

An error encountered with Setup.exe

Some reasons lies about your problem, here are some of those;

Your windows might not compatible with that software since you're not allowed by then to set it up. Another thing is that your windows might be corrupted. Since you already used 2 CD's for the same software and still having the same error. Please do check your windows for some virus or perhaps some files are might the one been corrupted. Try to check these things so that issue will be solved.

An error encountered with Setup.exe

Hello Jimmy,

This is a common problem and has a simple solution for this. If you are using the Norton Antivirus please uninstall it as Norton causes many problems and the errors like you mentioned in your post. Uninstalling the antivirus will fix your problem. Instead of Norton use Avast as your protection.
