I am trying to create a video using Corel VideoStudio but it keeps stopping. Then I decided to try restarting the application after saving the project. Immediately a message popped up stating “SP1 is available for download” and I did it. Now I am receiving the following error message: “Error: 38 – Corel VideoStudio files have been damaged or modified. Please reinstall your original source”. Am I having the issue because of installing SP1? How can I solve it?

Well, you just did an update to your windows operating system when you installed the service pack one upgrades, and that means that the application that are not supported by the windows service pack will be affected. And in this case the Corel Video Studio application is one of them. To resolve that issue, you will need to run system restore to remove the updates that you made to the computer so that it will work well with the applications that you have installed  on your computer.

  • On your computer, click on start.
  • And then type 'system restore' in the blank search box.
  • Press enter on your keyboard to open system restore.
  • In the system restore window, specify to restore the system to a time before the problem started occurring.

After the restoration process is over, your Corel Video Studio application should work just fine.
