Error 0x80040702 on Installing Broken Sword

I got this error message when I tried to install the game Broken Sword on my Acer laptop. I have tried to reinstall it to no avail. The error that is stating: 'error number 0x80040702 description: failed to load dll: mtxckr setup will now terminate'. How can I install the game without having issues?

Error 0x80040702 on Installing Broken Sword

The possible reason as to why the broken sword set up application does not install successfully on your computer is because of the following reasons:

• The setup application for the game is corrupt.
• The application you are installing is not compatible with the system specifications that your operating system is using.

And the remedy to the above problems will be as follows:

• If the setup application is corrupt, then you will need to obtain another copy of the application that does not have those problems. Therefore you will go to the internet, and probably on a different site from that you had earlier downloaded the application from, and then download another copy and install it.
• If the application has compatibility issues, then you will need to check the system requirements and download the right application that can work on that computer.

Hi,

I think the broken sword setup application did not install successfully on your computer . I think game set up is incomplete or corrupted.  Another reason might happen that  the application did not adjust your operating system .I will suggest you to download the game from another site and make sure it is not corrupted or it suits your operating system.

If you are referring to the game “Broken Sword: The Angel of Death,” since the problem is during setup, check first if the game supports your computer. “Broken Sword: The Angel of Death” supports Windows XP and requires 1.4 GHz or faster Intel Pentium or equivalent AMD Athlon XP processor, 256 MB RAM, video card with 128 MB video RAM and supports Shader model 1.1, Microsoft DirectX 9.0c, sound card, 400 MB free space, and optical drive.

If you have Windows Vista or higher, your computer may not be supported that’s why you have an error during installation. Try Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror on Steam instead. It works on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
