Error 0x00040007 on Acronis True Image Home 2012

I am editing the backup settings on my Acronis True Image Home 2012. This is a preparation for performing backups afterwards. But I received a “The operation fails with error code 0x00040007. The specified file cannot be found.” The archive for the backup are placed on my external hard drive. How can I resolve this issue?

Error 0x00040007 on Acronis True Image Home 2012

 

This problem occurs when you are backing up, exploring, restoring, deleting, editing settings that your backup is located on an external hard drive or source. This error tells that the file we are looking for does not exist so the cause is the external device cannot be access by the program. So please make sure the external drive is properly connected for you to avoid the error that you are having and make sure you do not have a faulty usb connector between your computer and your external device.
