Hi there Experts, I have recently heard about the Elgato GameCapture HD's feature and I really like this idea.

But I am confused about one question- This feature is highly likely to put pressure on the performance of the hard drive when playing a high definition game, right?

If not, then please explain me why it will not put pressure on the hard drive.

Thanks.

I’m not sure if it will really put some pressure on the hard drive because the recording is not done by an application or software that is installed on the hard drive but instead, the recording of the game play is done by the Elgato Game Capture HD device. The role of your hard drive is merely as storage for the captured video of the game play.

The pressure, I think, is on the Elgato Game Capture HD device because this is the sole hardware that initiates and controls all of the recording operations and passes the data to the hard drive. This doesn’t support lower versions of Windows. Elgato Game Capture HD supports Windows 7, and Macintosh OS X 10.7 operating systems.
