DropBox unexpected error in main script

I am unable to open the Dropbox on my MAC OS X 10.4. Whenever, I try to open the DropBox console it comes up with an error message.

An unexpected error has occurred during execution of the main script

Dropbox Error

Dropbox Error

An unexpected error has occurred during execution of the main script

ValueError: null byte in argument for int()

                               Open Console            Terminate

This is what happened before this error started appearing. I have been working on backing up a few files and folders. When I was in a process of backing up the same, there was a short power cut and my PC turned off.

From that time I have been getting the above error message.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

Hi Michael Carter,

Well it's good that you have included the event prior to the error itself. It's a very beneficial information to easily solve the problem. Okay because of what happened some of the files including Dropbox program (hope it's the only one though) the files has been rearranged or perhaps jumbled due to the short power cut. Meaning some of the files has been misplaced and was not properly copied/transferred/backed-up.

So in order to solve the problem you can always try to re-install/repair the program itself by using the it's installed. It will also help if your computer has an auto-recover system so that you can return to the setting prior the power cut.

Hope this helps.

Hi Michael,

I went through your problem and understood this properly. The best way to fix your issue is to use the Programs installer and attempt to Fix/Repair the program.

Alternatively – Uninstall and re-install the program to your computer.

Hopefully this will fix your problem , Good Luck!
