Download failed: connecting to host

During the installation of the GOM Video Converter, certain codecswill be installed through the internet. I am getting the error message:

GOM ENCODER Setup

Installation Aborted

Installation of the program was canceled.

Download failed: connecting to host

Download failed: connecting to host

It’s probably your internet connection. Make sure that you have a stable internet connection. Since the files are being installed directly from the internet, any interruption results to that error. You can trouble shoot your network and see if windows can fix it if the network interruption is from within the computer. I hope this helps.

Hello Salie,

The GOM Encoder downloads some heavy files through the internet so it needs reliable and fast internet connection. The internet connection you are using might be not fast enough to download the files so in the given time slot it fails to download the file and shows you an error. This can also happen due to disconnection of the internet at regular interval of time. Please start troubleshooting of your internet connection via PING method. It tells the reliability and data packets being transferred successfully or not.
