I am not sure if PSP support SRT file because it won't play in my device. It does not show any error but it just would not play. Do I have to configure anything or upgrade the firmware?

Hope you doing good. You can solve your problem via using either of the two solutions:
1. Copy the .srt file and movie file in the same folder. After rename both the files, such as both have same names except the extension. Like move.srt and movie.avi. Hope it works.
2. Try merging the subtitles in the video file via using an off the shelf software like subtitle workshop. You can download it from:
