Does the new windows 8 OS work well in ordinary PCs?
It seems like it's only compatible with tabs or touch-screened PCs by just looking at its interface alone.

New technologies are evolving.  If you want to catch up with this evolution you must use things that are appropriate for the specifications you want.  It can work on ordinary PC's but there is no guarantee that it will function well.  Or there could be some discrepancy regarding the compatibility of the OS with an old PC.

Does the new windows 8 OS work well in ordinary PCs?

There are many games which although specify a minimum running conditions beforehand but still they don't work so great with these entry level specs. Same applies to your question, Windows 8 might specify certain minimum processor requirements for users but it won't work so great with slower processors and lesser RAM models. So, better upgrade your specs to an optimum mark and enjoy the new release of Microsoft.
