Hello, yes I understand how you must be feeling. This error occurs if the DLL file is lost or gets corrupted. DLL (dynamic link library) file contains information and various library functions which are necessary for the smooth functioning of the software, and these files are active until the software is running.

• To resolve the issue, you need to download the Windows Sysinternals tool called Autoruns for Windows.

• Extract the zip folder you just downloaded and click on Run (launch it).

• Click on the AppInit tab. This screen will display all the DLL files which are no longer valid or are corrupted.

• One at a time, right- click on the DLL file and then select properties in which you should rename them. After this step, try to launch the application again.

• If the application shows the same error again, then right-click on one of the entries in the APPInit tab and then select Jump to Entry. The above step will open the System Registry Editor. Double click on LoadAppInit_DLLs to make a change in the value from 1 to 0.

• Click Ok and restart your computer to launch the game.

If you want to install and play “DiRT Rally”, make sure your computer meets the requirements. “DiRT Rally” supports 64-bit Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. It requires 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor, 4 GB RAM, video card with 1 GB video RAM and supports Pixel Shader 5.0 and Vertex Shader 5.0, sound card, and 35 GB free space.

If you fall short on the system requirements, you won’t be able to play it or you will encounter problems just like the error you are seeing. If you verify that your computer meets the requirements, try restarting the computer. After booting, disable your antivirus temporarily then try launching the game. If this doesn’t work, try to uninstall and reinstall.

Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select DiRT Rally among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer.

When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, install the game back then see if it works. For more information, go to DiRT Rally on Steam.
