Digital camera pictures only showing on the camera but not in computer

My sony digital camera has been working fine for a year now. It has a memory card inside it. Recently, when I decided to transfer the pictures to my computer, we can only see 5 pictures instead of the 1000 that I actually have. When I plugged the memory back to the camera and go to play the pictures, it’s all there showing 1000 pictures. Why is it not showing on the computer? What should I do to transfer them? How can I save my pictures and not ending in deleting all of them.

I got your problem. Normally digital cameras make use large sized high resolution images, which are highly volatile .Instead of using the camera software to recover pictures from digital camera u have to use a recovery tool that recovers your missing images but be sure that you have not used the card further for storage purpose. To recover pictures from digital camera i recommend this tool as it gave me a good result on the same problem in canon power shot SD880. Or you can put your sd card in the camera and connect the camera to the PC. If you are still having problem then reinstalls the drive after uninstalling it in device drivers.
