Difference between Worm and Trojan Viruses and how to fix when affected

Solutions to a system affected by Virus:

1. If your computer got a virus, don't panic. The first thing you have to do is to get an Antivirus software. Run a scan with your Antivirus. Once a virus is detected you can either remove or quarantine it. If you remove it the virus will be gone and your computer will be safe. If you quarantine a virus, you have to change the names of the files that is affected and put it in the quarantine folder to stop it from spreading. Remember that your Antivirus software has to be updated, just to ensure that your software has the latest fixes for a new viruses.

2. Steps to remove Malware.

• Start your computer in Safe Mode. Press the "F8" repeatedly as you restart the computer.
• Run the "Malware Removal Tool". Click Start, go to Run then type MRT then press Enter. If you encounter problems, try to download the most recent version of the tool from Microsoft Security to run the scan.
• Click "Next".
• Click "Full Scan" selection. The "Full Scan" has the greatest chance of detecting a virus. Click "Next" to begin the Full Scan.
• Follow the instructions to stop and remove any viruses.
• Click "Finish" when the repair is complete.
• Restart your computer.

3. Deleting Trojans.

• Perform a scan with your Antivirus software. Wait while the program looks for the Trojan viruses. Click "Remove" once they are found. This should delete the threats from your computer.

4. Shutting down Trojans.

• Click "Start", open Control Panel. A new window will open.
• Under the System menu, click "File System".
• Click "Disable System Restore", then hit Ok. Trojan viruses may find into the System Restore folder, in which Antivirus programs are not allowed to modify. By disabling, it allows the viruses to appear as a threat.
• Restart your unit. Press "F9" when the logo appears at the start-up screen.
• Use "Tab" key to select "Safe Mode" then hit "Enter."
• Open your Antivirus software.

• Scan your PC. The log of your computer's registry files will open.
• Select the threats that you listed down in the log then remove them.
• Restart your PC in its normal mode.

7. Removing Trojans manually. Deleting registry values.

• Click "Start", click "Run" then type "regedit" and then click on "Registry Editor".
• Delete the following registry values from the left pane of Registry Editor. Deleting the wrong registry value can cause significant system errors.

• Click "Start", click "Run", type cmd.
• Type the this commands into the Command Prompt. Hit "Enter" after each command and click "Yes", if asked to confirm the commands.
