What is the difference between IPB – Invision Power Board and phpBB? I want to create a forum site and I need a good solution for forum software, which support RSS feeds.

Difference between IPB and phpBB

A key difference between the two forum solutions is that Invision Power board is a commercial solution and if you want to use it you’ll have to pay for it whereas phpBB is free of cost forum solution.

Being a commercial product, IPS has more advanced administrative control panel then phpBB and a more professional look. phpBB is easy to use with its simple interface. It’s a good choice for people who have less or no experience of administrating a forum.

Both IPS and phpBB support RSS feed.

Difference between IPB and phpBB

The Invision Power Board is an internet forum application designed by Invision Power Services, Inc. which is coded using PHP and mainly uses MySQL as its database management system. It also works on other database engines and is usually shortened to IP.Board, IP Board, or IPB. It is a commercial product, but there are modifications done by modding community that are for free. While Invision Power Board being a commercial product, phpBB is different. Even if they are both forum software, phpBB is free for use by the public. Hello friends, nice to see you again helping me a lot! Well, I was also confused which software to use: IPB or phpBB? Now I have come to a decision. And all of its credit goes to Sharath Reddy. He gives the meaning of IPB and phpBB and also their differences. He helped me most to choose the best software. I have come to use phpBB. It's completely free of cost and easy to utilize. I can configure database system easily within a few minutes! And it is lightweight to use and also I love it for its fast functions. As it is popular worldwide, there are many extensions available for this software. Thanks Sharath for augmenting my knowledge and delivering me from an unusual environment.
