After installing new programs can I delete its installer packages? Is there a possibility that the newly installed program will not run without its Installer?

The installer is not required once the program is installed. But in case you need them in the future or to find them easily, it's nice to burn them to CD. Many keep such backups in case they need to reinstall programs or softwares especially if the hard drive dies or computer needs to be formatted or computer takes a very bad dive.

I would suggest saving antispyware installers, driver installers, software like Java etc and anything that you might need badly in future. It's an individual choice but that's how at least I have been handling program installers.

Hope that helped.

No, you can already delete the installer once the application has been installed successfully. But if I were you, I won’t do it. I will not delete the installer of the program especially if the software is a licensed version. A licensed version is a paid version and you can only get it if you are willing to pay for it.

If your application is only a freeware or a shareware then you may delete it since you can freely download it anywhere on the web as long as you have internet connection you will be able to find it. But it is also a good habit not to delete the installer even after installing the product because sometimes it is required if you want to remove some features of the application.

It is also good not to delete it because in cases where the program suddenly malfunctions or just suddenly stopped working, you can immediately fix it by reinstalling the product and that’s when keeping the installer comes in handy. But if you have already too many versions of the same application, you can delete some of the oldest ones to free up some space.

Like for example, me, I still keep old versions of the installers of Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office suites, especially web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Maxthon.
