The CPU is running but no display is seen on the monitor. I tried to replace the hard disk and the memory but to no avail. I also tried installing a new power supply but just the same, the monitor only displays a black screen. Could somebody help me with my problem. I have tried fixing it for days but my desktop just wont work.

It seems that you haven't even tried replacing it video card. Buy a supported video card for your motherboard. And also try double checking the memory. Try a different combinations on how you place you memory, either with one left blank or both slot have memory or switch the left memory on the other slot.

Note: If there is no display, the hard disk plays no part from it so don't even bother changing it.

Note: Only the memory, power supply and video card are the primary suspects when the computer is running but with no display.

Also try your monitor with other CPU it might be the problem.

Hi,

Have you checked if your monitor is plugged in to the power outlet? Make sure the power outlet has power and that the power cord of the monitor is not broken. Have you checked if the monitor's connector to your computer's port is still connected and did not come lose? Make sure the connector is also not broken. If the connector is connected to the computer tower and you don't see any display, try and disconnect it and see if anything comes up on screen. If something like "No Signal" is displayed, then you have a bad video card. If nothing still comes up, then you may have a bad monitor.

Thank you. Hope it helps.
