Sometimes for security reasons, i have to change the ip address. But i think every software can not change the IP perfectly, the original IP can be easily detected. Again some software makes you invisible but they can be a threat. What is the best way to change your IP with maintaining your security?

Changing IP without compensating security

Hello Ace.

The process depends on which IP you want to change. Is it the static/dynamic or the public/private?

To change your public IP:

Your public IP is controlled with your ISP so it is not that easy to change it. Some Internet companies will give you a static IP address. In order to change it, you will need to call your ISP and ask them to give you a new one. Most of the Internet services uses a dynamic IP through DHCP.  If your computer is connected to the net, you can do the "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" command on your command prompt. Or you can just disconnect the modem and wait for few hours or days until your provider will give a different IP address.

To change your Private IP:

If you are using a router, you can try to release and renew your DHCP or configure the router to use a different IP.

Changing your IP will not affect the performance of your network or any security network.
