Cannot successfully update Kaspersky Antivirus 2012

I can not successfully update Kaspersky Antivirus 2012.

The update process is painfully slow, it starts OK but stops at 39%.

My internet connection is OK because my browser and download manager are working properly.

Has anyone dealt with this issue?

Please help.

Cannot successfully update Kaspersky Antivirus 2012

You have to download the antivirus database signatures with the latest threats. Once you have a – copy the entire database and update the computer without an Internet Connection.

First, you need a computer running Kaspersky Antivirus with a working Internet Connection. Once you have that, create a new folder on the computer running Kaspersky Antivirus:

Open Kaspersky Antivirus main interface.

First, locate the Update section ( the earth icon ). Second, check the copy updates to folder feature and browse to the folder that you`ve created, then Click on “Apply“ and “OK“ and this is it. Create settings and access this section.

After that  hit browse and locate the folder that you just created.

Finally choose run Update.

If everything is working well, you should see in the window , the database is being updated – updating databases and the application.

Hey Davis

Sometimes an update of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 anti-virus databases is terminated and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 informs that the databases need to be updated.

To resolve the situation, do the following:

Step 1. Download a zip-archive with the latest updates of anti-virus databases: http://utils.kaspersky.com/updater/KLUpdater.zip?_ga=2.79887440.633753936.1521282951-1872713881.1521282951
Step 2. Unpack the downloaded archive.

Step 3. Configure update of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 from a folder with the unpacked archive:

Open the main application window.
At the upper right corner of the window click the Settings button.
On the Settings window go to the Update tab.
In the Run mode and update source section click the Update source button.
On the Update window on the Source tab click the Add button.
On the Select update source window select the folder where you have unpacked the downloaded archive with the databases updates.
Click the OK button.
On the Source tab clear the Kaspersky Lab update server box.
On the Update window click the OK button.
On the Settings window click the OK button.

Step 4. Start update of anti-virus databases.

Step 5. Once the update is finished, configure Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 to download updates from the Kaspersky Lab update servers:

Open the main application window.
At the upper right corner of the window click the Settings button.
On the Settings window go to the Update tab.
In the Run mode and update source section click the Update source button.
On the Update window in the Source tab in the list of the update sources check the Kaspersky Lab update servers box and uncheck the boxes for another update source.
On the Update window click the OK button.
On the Settings window click the OK button.
Close the main program window.

Solution 2

If above given resolution does not help, then send a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via the My Kaspersky Account service. In your request give a detailed description of your problem.

To update Kespersky Antivirus 2012, you should follow the steps,

1. Open the main application window. (To open the main application window you should double Click the Kespersky Antivirus 2012 icon in the taskbar notification area in the right lower part of the screen).

2. In the main application window look at the down part and select Update.

3. On the open window you should click on the Run Update button.

4. Now you should wait until the update process is completed.
