Cannot see the dvd rom in my computer

Hello,

The dvd rom in my pc is attached and was working perfectly. But recently the dvd rom is not visible in my computer menu with the other drive. The dvd rom opens when I manually click the button, but it is not showing so cannot really work with that. I do not if there is a setting that might have turned off the visibility of the dvd rom.

Either case I need to know the possible solutions for the problem. Please someone help me out of it.

Hey Alonzo smith!

This problem might be the cause of change in windows registry. It seems that someone has hide the DVD Rom from the windows registry. You have to change the windows registry. For this purpose, follow these steps.

1. Click on start and type regedit in Run. Hit enter.

2. It will open windows registry. Go to the following path by expanding (+) sign.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > ControlClass > {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

3. Here if you see Upper Filter or LowerFilter on the right side, delete them.

4. Close registry.

5. Reboot your PC.

I hope that it will fix your problem.

Thanks

·         Switch to Classic view and click on Device Manager.

·         Click on Continue if prompted.

·         Under device manager tab expand the “CD/DVD ROM Drives”

·         Here you will get info about your optical drive.
