Recently, Facebook released a new “Call” button on the profile page. The button will appear if our friends are online. Can we call our friends who are online with a mobile device?

Can We Call Facebook Friends Who Are Online In A Mobile Device?

No, it is not possible to call your friend who are online using a mobile phone. It is only possible when both parties are using a computer system. Facebook added this noticeable Call button on top of your Timeline page. However, this is not the first time that they added this call button, it was presented in the previous Facebook Profile view but has not been added when on Timeline view.

Facebook users should need to click on the video camera icon to start the chat interface and call a friend. If a user is not online or not been using Facebook on a mobile phone, the video camera and call button icon will not be visible in the Facebook interface.

Can We Call Facebook Friends Who Are Online In A Mobile Device?

Yes! Facebook is pretty much growing better and better everyday. Before, they allowed us to browse on their page via mobile phones. Now we are able to make a call to our Facebook friends using an app called Bobsled – a voice-calling service released early this year.

It was creatively designed for Facebook and currently may be used on any mobile devices with new applications utilized for Android and iOS. With Bobsled, you can call your friends on Facebook from your desktop browser or on your iPod, phone, pad etc.

Using Bobsled on iOS is quite limited though as you can only call your friends on your Facebook list. The call is free to any mobile or landline across the US, Canada or Puerto Rico. Still it’s a fairly good deal compared to Skype who charges 1.2-2.3 cents/minute for the same benefit. Another bonus: this app is for free! You may download Bobsled in the App Store.

Can We Call Facebook Friends Who Are Online In A Mobile Device?

According to my point of view the button introduced to the Facebook application to call online friends is realistic though I have not yet tried. I think it will just work out like the way video calling works out on Skype. Just the other day I saw an article on the internet about Facebook video calling which tried to explain that it's not a must you install the Facebook application for you to make calls but you can use the normal phone call button. My big worry, who is to charge for the call? The Facebook or our local network providers?
