A Zip files carry’s one or many compressed files that need to be extracted with special software like WinZip, WinRar  and much more other softwares alike. There are a few other methods which can be done manually which are;

–      Double-clicking on the Zip file which is easily done On WinXP and more newer systems, this automatically activates an in-built extraction program. Or you can follow the longer process which is by Right-clicking the file and selecting extract all which will still follow the same process of the computer automatically activating the in-built program and you can then access your files from the Zip.

Hi,

7-Zip is an archiving tool as can WinZip, WinRAR, PowerArchiver or IZArc, its main feature is that it is free. It supports reading formats CAB, FAT, ISO, LZH, LZMA, RAR, RPM, squashfs, UDF, VHD, WIM, XAR and Z. For archive creation, it is limited to 7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, ZIP and WIM. Another advantage of 7-Zip to its competitors, the .7 z. This extremely powerful compression format is capable of competing with the big names of the genre in terms of compression ratio. You can also appreciate the opportunity to encrypt your documents, but also can create archives that can be unpacked without using software.
