I'm on a shared hosting server and it seems like someone inserted a php code to speak using php. All php files on my server had the same code on it. Is my FTP compromised?
Can someone insert Php code to speak using php?
If you are using shared hosting, you must be aware of its security weaknesses. You have to share security certificates and an IP address which risks the privacy. There is the chance of security breaches if the domains on the server are able to run PERL or PHP scripts, or if the server is giving shell access permission. Also there is the risk of your files to be accessed by others, sharing the server because they uses prepackaged software.
Use FTP connection using FTP-SSL to secure it.You need FTP client like Filezilla because most of the systems doesn't support FTP-SSL
