Hi, I need to check the connectivity of the ethernet port of my computer to check whether any other device is connected to mine. Can someone explain how to check ethernet port?

Can Someone Explain How To Check Ethernet Port?

First, open the network connection from the control panel on your computer. click on the properties option. In the new window, you will see the settings option. Click it and then wait till you see a list of connections displayed. Select the connection you want to check and click on “view connection settings”.
Check whether it says “connected” right below your network connection’s name. You will see the line saying “IPv4 address”. Check the IP address displayed next to it. If it starts with 169, it means you are not connected to any other devices. If it starts with anything else, it must mean that you are connected to some other device.
