I know about forum posting. But I don’t have any idea about directory listing. Can anyone please tell me something about it? Such as what is it? How does it work? Etc.

Hi Bart Jones,

 

Directory listing refers to a directory on the server that doesn't have a default index file.

The files  are commonly called index.html, index.htm, index.php, etc.

That is the default page that allows visitors to see when they go to the directory on your website, ex:  www.yahoo.com/directory.

 

The directory listings are useful in establishing your links with other various relevant Websites and making their correct categories.

You will be able to come across different virtual assistances over the Internet that will be useful in managing the task of promoting and marketing your website for you. 

 

Business directory listing or Virtual assistants are the best options while you want to circumvent the tedious/dull method of advertising your website.

Business directories are much like the yellow pages to make it shortened.

 

If you are considering your company to be easily located, it is recommended that you include your site into the business listings online.
