I am running windows 7 on an Acer Desktop that is roughly 3 years old. When I try to click on anything, say an image, a pop up appears instructing me to call 844-490-6711, that claims to be windows support since I have a virus. I have an active antivirus and it shows no virus yet the message appears often. What is it and how can I solve it?

Window support system doesn't carry the contact number 844-490-6711. Most likely, it is a virus problem, though you have stated that you have an active antivirus system loaded on your machine. So, it is recommended that:-

1. Run your Antivirus for all the drives on your system  and check.

2. Check whether it happens in case of opening one particular website? If yes, avoid that site.

3. Check if any 'Add On' has unnecessarily got downloaded in your system. If yes, remove it.
