Hello! I am opting for computer science in the 11^th standard. Since the classes haven’t started yet, I thought I might as well do some extra work. The multiples of bytes seem confusing.

What is the order of the multiples of bytes and how to convert them to one another? For instance, how to convert kilobytes to megabytes?

That’s a way to go kiddo! For a beginner, it is no wonder that the byte multiples seem confusing. The order is similar to the prefixes for other quantities (like frequency). The order looks like this – kilo<mega<giga<tera<peta<exa<yotta. Every multiple is 1024 times the previous multiple. Taking your example, to convert kilobytes to megabytes, since one megabyte equals 1024 kilobytes, one kilobyte would be equivalent to the ratio -> (1/1024).
