I think my hard drive has died and the laptop will not boot up at all. To check the machine I was wanting to boot the computer off of a SD card. Is this a option that will help me run a check on the machine to see what the problem is?

Hi Stephen running your OS on SD card is not possible in windows or Mac it can only run on Linux. But if you’re running on windows 8 it is possible. But you can also do some diagnostic on your hard drive. To check if your hard drive is still accessible. By pressing F2 or F1 you will be directed to the bios. There you can see if your hard drive is still working or needs to be replaced.
