How come Bitdefender IS 2011 firewall would block me whenever I start my Windows update?

Is there any way to stop this error message from appearing. It has pissed me off for 24 hrs already.

Will it be okay if I add Windows firewall update sites to my FW settings manually?

I have tried disabling Bitdefender FW and let Windows update, but when I enable the update process again, the update does not connect.

Hello Donald Hammond, I have read your query.

Problem seems to be with Windows Updates, not your Bit Defender Firewall Module. You will have to reset your Windows Update Components to resolve this issue. You can diagnose and fix this problem automatically by using an automated troubleshooter “Fix it” from Microsoft.

Microsoft Fix it can be downloaded from this link.

After download, run this tool and follow onscreen instructions. Chances are you get your issue fixed by this tool.

You can alternatively reset the Windows Update Components by yourself. This is a tricky process and involves changing registry entries. One small mistake and you may encounter a serious problem. So I’ll suggest you to avoid this if you can, otherwise contact some expert from Microsoft.

You can also try adding exceptions to Bit Defender Firewall for these links http://*.update.microsoft.com, https://*.update.microsoft.com and http://download.windowsupdate.com

On the other hand, if nothing works, you can try removing Bit Defender from your PC with the help of Bit Defender Uninstall Toll. You can download this tool from here
